Vocabulary flashcards that actually know when you are about to forget
WordIsle schedules every word with FSRS-6 spaced repetition — the same family of algorithm Anki uses — on ready-made books of 4,300 words with definitions, examples and collocations. Open the page, study for five minutes, come back tomorrow. No account, nothing to set up.

Three steps, every day
1
Study 5-word groups
New words and due reviews are queued together, reviews first. Rate each word: forgot, hard, good, or easy.
2
The scheduler does the math
FSRS-6 estimates a stability and difficulty for every word and computes the exact day each one should come back.
3
Come back tomorrow
Your queue is waiting — most overdue words first. A streak and a 90-day heatmap keep the habit visible.
Questions people actually ask
- Is this vocabulary flashcards practice really free?
- Yes — every wordbook, every feature, no account. Free flashcard apps usually lock spaced repetition or add ads inside practice; here the scheduler is the product and your progress stays in your own browser.
- What is spaced repetition and why does it matter for vocabulary?
- Words fade from memory on a predictable curve. Spaced repetition reviews each word right before the fade point, which is the most efficient moment. WordIsle uses FSRS-6, a modern scheduling algorithm, to compute that moment for every single word.
- Do I need to make my own flashcards?
- No. Three wordbooks (2,000 to 4,300 words total) come ready-made with definitions, examples, collocations and synonyms. Pick one and start; heavy users can graduate to Anki later — export your progress anytime.
- How much should I study per day?
- Ten new words a day is the default, adjustable from 5 to 20. Reviews pile up gently as words stick — most sessions take five to ten minutes.
